Hello, thank you for exploring my site. I’m Claire, a qualified humanistic counsellor providing long- and short-term counselling to individuals 18+ either in person, online or by phone.
I am an approachable, warm counsellor offering compassionate support.
I have a Level 6 Clinical Diploma in Humanistic Counselling from Metanoia Institute and a BSc in Psychology from Exeter University.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their code of ethics. I am certified to conduct online and telephone counselling. My work is fully insured and professionally supervised.
I began my counselling training after working as a researcher in the areas of mental and physical health, education and justice with a particular focus on awareness-raising campaigns and service user needs for organisations such as NHS, Cancer Research and British Heart Foundation. I retrained as a counsellor as I wanted a role where I could connect with people directly to offer support with life’s challenges.
In my career, I have always been interested in developing meaningful relationships based on respect, trust and mutual development. I chose humanistic therapy because it is based on the idea that we all have the potential to work through our issues and make sense of them given sufficient empathy and support.
Throughout my career I have held coaching and mentoring roles and offer a student mentoring service for those in counselling training. Please contact me for more information.
In addition to private practice, I also volunteer in a charitable setting offering low-cost counselling within the community.
